Reflecting on things

Covid has and still is changing our world even till this day. Life as we know it before 2020 had really been gone!

I must admit that it was quite strange when we saw the news in December 2019 and saw people dying in the streets in China. Something like that sounded so ridiculous that I almost did a Donald Trump and called it "fake news", but little did I know that by March 2020 it was going to be our turn.

Surviving several lockdowns took all the fun out of traveling and to be honest, when one was over, a few months later there was another one. Where were we to go except from the house to the garden and back if you were lucky to own a garden in the first place. This was more than unreal in my book and I looked up to the skies above praying that things would only progress for the better and I am not even all that religious, but drastic times asks for drastic matters.

I must admit that the first one was fun. You didn't have to go go work, the weather was good because of spring and you could finally do stuff in the house and backyard you hadn't had time for in the last couple of years. The second one, not so fun anymore and the third one which was a semi of only work and no play was definitely the worst one for me.

My best buddy Tania was planning a holiday for the end of 2021 with her boyfriend, but I just didn't saw the pleasure in it with all the restrictions, so I gave it a pass.

I secretly had my hopes set on the year 2022 and after a weekend break in September with Tania, I was more sure than ever, good times were going to come back again. Of course we couldn't travel anywhere because of another lockdown of a few months (yep, the fourth already!?!), but I slowly started to look at destinations again.

It was mindblowing, gone were the dark thoughts and in with new and happy ones. The excitement of looking for destinations was back as it was before Covid hit the world. Of course we still have to consider it is not yet gone, but I was so glad to see countries opening up again for travel and it didn't took me long to decide.

Happy days are definitely here again and I can only hope that this time around they are here to stay!
