Hello world, it is nice to see you again!

Once back home from my short break to Amsterdam last year, I started having hope again and was for once interested in seeing new and exciting things.

Since overseas destinations were still out of the question because Belgium only allowed us to travel national or in Europe, there was still plenty to choose from. I must admit that I wasn't into all the hassle with taking other tests and showing all your papers that you had been vaccinated, but that meant that the long list of visiting places became shorter and shorter as well. However, I sticked to my believes for once and ended up with Croatia.

It hit all my markers being a country in Europe I had never been before and with not too many restrictions concerning Covid, it was a done deal for sure.

So once booked, I started to dream about traveling again and months suddenly passed by so quickly that before I knew it, I found myself on an international train towards Rotterdam.

Officially my trip was going to start tomorrow, but not cooping with too much problems with public transport as I went through in the past, I just booked myself a low budget hotel near the airport, so that I could relax and feel the holiday vibe already.

Since I wasn't leaving till late in the evening, I could sleep in, packed my bags with no hassle at all and of course said my goodbyes to my two most favorite people of the whole wide world ... my crazy nieces!!

Once that was done, it was onwards to the train station and with a small stop at Antwerp, where I grabbed something quick to eat, it was on to the international train towards Rotterdam where I arrived a little before 8 pm.

I didn't wanted to go through the search of taking a bus, for some reason, an overloaded train took all the juice out of me. I guess I was not used to crowds anymore after a few years, so I just took a cab instead and about 15 minutes later I arrived at the hotel where checking in was done in mere minutes.

Still a bit early to go to sleep, I had a quick walk to inspect the airport, but it was a tiny one with not much going on, so after grabbing a cup of tea I just relaxed at my room and looked at my travel itinerary again. I can't wait for tomorrow, that's for sure!
